What is a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture sometimes referred to as “CSA” is when one, or many, partner with a local agricultural producer. These members receive a weekly, bi weekly or monthly “share” of food. Each member supports their local agriculture directly and helps to ensure that the freshest quality of food is on their very own plate.
Why choose a CSA?
-Healthy quality foods. Foods are picked ripe, usually same day as receiving.
- Economical. Budgeted to your families needs. Each share cost less than purchasing at markets and ensures you get what you need, when you need, without the hassle of scurrying to look for something that they sold out of minutes before you arrived.
-Diverse. Many offer new varieties of old foods. Sometimes it may be foods you never even heard of or an old favorite you haven’t had in awhile. Recipes and cooking techniques may also be offered.
-Interactive. Meet your growers and other members during farm visits or at pick up locations. Many share members have opportunities to visit farms for special events.
-Buy local. Each share helps to support local commerce.
-Go Green. Eco friendly. Cut the carbon footprint…shipping containers and interstate travel are not commonly used by your local farmer to get your food to you.
-Each share helps your local grower by making it possible to secure seed, maintain equipment, cover fees associated with their programs and maintain quality staff.
Purchasing shares also ensures your grower’s sales throughout the season, giving them the ability to project which crops to sow and how much to grow of them.

CSA Schedule is based on a 20 week cycle:
Begins week of May 6- May 10th Ends week of Sept 16-Sept 20th
What comes with your share?
Each member is assigned two collapsible baskets. They are washed and sanitized prior to packaging your share. When you come to pick up your weekly share simply return the one that was used from the prior week. Whether weekly or bi-weekly, your share will provide you with fresh, quality, seasonal produce that is harvested just prior to packing your basket (which is done on the day of your pick up). As the seasons change so will the size of your share. Watermelons quite frankly are larger than strawberries so as more fruit and produce becomes available get ready to expand your basket! We do understand that not everyone likes everything but we do encourage trying some new varieties as they become available. Please let us know if there is something that you absolutely do not like or if there are any food allergies that we should know of. We offer cooking suggestions and recipes. All items are labeled. You may also add to your share by ordering through our store or contacting us prior to pick up day. We also offer exclusive CSA member events at the farm!
